...I have just now, four days before I start posting the SKZ Kinktober fics, realised that posting thirty-fucking-one fics in a row means coming up with thirty-goddamnmotherfuckingfdjlasfkdja-one titles. In a row.

I mean. I did that in 2023 and 2024 Spooktober ficlets but had clearly repressed the trauma until now.

I guess just listing the kinks doesn't count as a title? Or maybe I should go for Friends style titles, like 'The One Where...'

'The One Where Chan Finds Minho's Panties and Then Pines About It for 10K'

'The One Where Jeongin Gets Tipsy Enough To Hit On A Buff Guy at the Bar'

'The One Where Hyunjin Is Seungmin's Birthday Present from His Dick Colleagues'

'The One Where Seungmin and Felix Try Cock Cages and Like It. A Lot.'

send thoughts and prayers

Sometimes you just want to play games with a single deck of cards. That's how I discover that how versatile a card game can be. XD

ito: a cooperative game where you and your friends will each get your own secret number you then have to try to put in order as a group based on the clues you give related to the chosen theme.

It's fun, easy to pick up and cause a lot of laughter when we have to figure out the ranking. Good for icebreaker. If you want more challenge, you can leave out the category cards and play "The Mind", which you all sort out cards without communication with one another in any way.

If you use only the number card 3-35, you can play a game of:
No Thanks!: Take a card, pay to say no thanks or take what you must to score the least.

It's an easy and fast paced game of bluffing and risk taking. I played the variant which all the players playing with open tokens for bidding. It really helps save time.
If you like Werewolf but you have a low player count/dislike player elimination, Cheese Thief is a fun social deduction game with no need of moderators, player elimination nor set patterns. One player is the cheese thief, while the others have to figure out who they are with die-face combinations for clues. There's only one round, one vote, so it's very fast paced. I use the 1-6 number cards to replace die and other number cards for character cards.

Huzzah!

The renn fair was fun but the day ended sourly.

As I told [personal profile] evil_little_dog if I woke up before the alarm I was just going to get going then. I did and I did. I wasn't the only renn fair bound person at that hotel judging by the peasant couple and the guy dressed like a gnome. This was the ideal hotel because it's 1.3 miles from OH-73 which is the road the fair is on. I got to the 71/73 intersection (which is how I usually go) It's 3.8 miles to the fair. Took 35 minutes to get there. It doesn't open until 1030. I'm in the ADA line and it's still closer to 11.

I know Jacque de Whipper is on at noon. I was going to shop around that side and go sit at 1130. Nope. It's 10 to 11 and the seats are nearly filled. I plop down. I watch the pirate acrobat/comedy show (cute), Magnolia and Judas' show. She sings Hildegard von Bingen while fire dancing. Her husband does one of those under water Houdiniesque escapes. they were fun (and if I dared to get up I might have checked out her cd sung in a mausoleum.

And the audience was into it. Very interactive. So much fun.

Jacques de Whipper is a stellar dude. One of the things he asked everyone to do was well yes tip him but he is doing SO well and there are others who just as good and not as well tipped. He asked us to be kind if we could afford it (I should have circled back when I was close to do that with the other acts but it was so damn muddy around the theater I was afraid of falling).

Jacques was a lot of fun. The song part of it didn't go as well as I've seen it at other places but that's on us and our requests. And he learned why you never sing out 'OH' in Ohio because the rest of us WILL loudly shout back I-O (thanks for nothing OSU). Unfortunately he also hurt his left wrist sword fighting earlier in the week so he was one-handed but that also meant he trotted out a flaming whip act he hadn't entirely perfected.

I did tip (and got a pin of him as a thank you) Sadly I couldn't get near him. I got the pin from his wife. Also he is very funny (and kept telling us to drink water thanks to all the thirsty comments his videos get. Dude is very attractive)

I hobble around to the falafel place shopping as I go (buying nothing). By now it's hotter than it's meant to be today. I get there and for some reason it's PACKED. (even longer line than I just stood in for the privvies) But the crepe place has NO ONE (which had to be worrisome for them because every other food stand is slammed) I get a spinach/feta crepe. A bit pricey but tasty. But between the heat and my sugar my brain chemistry is sliding. I know it. I feel it.

I also feel like a dummy because all week I kept saying put the powered gatorade in your purse. 'nah I'll remember' I did not remember. I could have used the electrolytes.

A lot of the vendors I used to know are gone, not all of them but a lot. The one thing I don't like with the expanded ren fest (and it was the reason a lot of people retired in 2019) is that they no longer have the rule it MUST be hand made by the vendors and we do get some imported crap. Not a ton but enough.

I found Uncommon Adornments, a place I've been buying from since 1997 (my first renn fest at this site) but this is probably the last for me. The prices are a bit outrageous now and I have one in nearly every style so... however those earrings are the first thing I bought that wasn't food or drink.

By the time I hit Ladysmith, my brain is swimming in sugar and heat and that is my explanation for why I spent so much on this 1920s looking silver and labradorite pendant (very pretty, too expensive). I wander in and out of a ton of places and I feel justified in moving this fest to every other year because I do have everything I want from most of the vendors.

I haven't been back to the leather dragon place in several years (but I'm wearing the purple dragon I bought long ago probably 2019) I couldn't NOT buy the dragon holding a book and a latte because it's me in dragon form (and it wasn't overpriced)

I took forever at the copper jewelry shop (used a jewelers torch to heat/decorated the metal) I wanted the space stuff but it wasn't as nice as the leave and then I saw the cat.

I drank some nice granny smith apple mead (I wanted to try the one with juniper berries and cranberries but it was on the drier side but they aren't doing samples so I went sweet) I was going to get a chimney cake (Kürtőskalács). I think they're yummy and fun BUT the line was like 100 yards long. Screw that. Besides it's now 4 pm and I've been here 6 hours.

And here's where things went sideways. It was cloudless and sunny so I put in my contacts for the first time in 6 weeks so my sunglasses could fit better. Welp this is the wake up call to do what I've been saying I was going to do for 3 years: prescription sunglasses (I was going to do it this summer but turns out Warby Parker won't do them for someone with my vision). My contacts were beginning to bother my right eye.

And just like the last few times I've worn a contact, my right starts freaking out so I pull my contacts out and get on the road. By the time I'm 20 miles up the road to the truck stop where I usually change out of my cosplay and pee. I grabbed gatorade, coffee and two popeye chicken meals (sandwich and a 2 piece with biscuit and it was still cheaper than that crepe) I remember when people got into fights over this Popeye chicken sandwich (it's identical to the KFC one but that one had more flavorful breading than Popeye's classic)

I go out and realize my eye must be getting worse because I parked like an idiot and I realized I couldn't see out of my right eye again. Thank god Old US 35 is almost empty always but by the time I'm in Chillicothe I absolutely cannot see anything but haze out of my right eye. By the time I hit here, my eye is redder than my Deadpool t-shirt and swollen so much I can't even fully shut it. Again. And naturally it's a weekend because if not I would beg my eye doctor to look at this NOW. Every time it happens, it takes so long to get in that it's half healed. My eye is watering so bad, I've had to blow my nose for 3 hours now. It's beginning to calm down but I still have this blown up to about 300% so I can see it. I won't share pictures tonight because my vision is too blurry. And it's not worth going to urgent care because they're not experts and I DO have steroid drops so in they go.

But I saw no less than two Alucard's from Hellsing, one Qifrey from Witch Hat Atelier and a Medusa with her stone victim. There was Jesus (complete with that red sash they love painting him in) and a Biblically accurate angel but I couldn't get my camera out fast enough. MY cosplay with that totally not renn shawl I bought at that other Medieval fair earlier in the month was an absolute hit. Almost no one ever comments on my cosplay. I get it. I'm older and not skinny/cute, kinda sucks but that's usually reality. So I was very pleased with that. It would have been a great day if my eye hadn't turned into an asshole with a hemorrhoid

also I know I owe a lot of comments back. Was going to do it tonight but can't for the obvious reason.

[personal profile] zimena
Swiped from [personal profile] kitarella_imagines:

1. If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

Languages. How about having the talent to learn any language to native-like fluency if I put my mind and heart to it? That would be a skill I'd love to have.

2. If you could do anything in the world as your career, what would you do?

Be a snooker journalist, write about the sport and its people for a living. And, of course, being a good one; one who knows every player, their coaches, and any other people around the sport.

3. If you could be immortal, what age would you choose to stop aging at and why?

The default answer is 29, right? I'm honestly not sure, though. For one thing, I'm much happier with myself at 48 than I were at 29. Maybe that just means I shouldn't be immortal at all.

4. If you could be any supernatural creature, what would you be and why?

Very easily a vampire. I'm endlessly fascinated by them, and I have my own, elaborate vampire stories in my head.

5. If you had to teach a class on one thing, what would you teach?

Mobile phone functionality and usage.

Or so I fear. I didn't realize the Renn fair is entirely sold out tomorrow. It's going to be way too many people. Sigh. If I had seen that earlier in the week I would have tried harder to change my hotel reservation. Alas.

I'm here at the hotel. You know what This room is 1001 times better than my hotel in Gettysburg (or my upcoming one in Charleston. The only negative is the curtains on both windows (because that's how big this is) are half off the pull slide and gapped which is bad enough but it's also a first floor room. I can practically touch my car from here. There's nothing creepy about people being able to see in here right? I used bags to hold the curtain over the a/c unit shut. I have my dragon hair clip and dragon pin holding the one closer to the bed shut. Of all times not to have my bobby pins...

Too bad I'm only here one night because I'd have a) complained about the curtains b) I'm directly across from the pool which would have been nice.

The weird thing about this is a completely rural hotel. I'm not sure who it's meant to serve. It's somewhere between Dayton and Cincinnati. The old heart of the town is cute and there's a small college here, Wilmington (after the town's name) I went to a restaurant called the Tin Can (dumb name) the online menu for their ciders was spot on. The food menu not even close. Turns out it was a BBQ place so it was another brisket sandwich for me today (More beef than I eat in a month in the last two years) this one with apple slaw and onion straws on it. It was good but the show stopper was the lavender pear cider. I had intended to get the salted caramel apple cider but they let us sample them. OMG that pear one was amazing. Do you want to run a tab? Yes but sadly no because I have to drive.

And 1:30 AM I remembered that I had taken my personal computer to work. that's where my missing flashdrive was.

Mom went looking for hotels for me in Charleston and in 1 day's time that casino hotel went from 180 to 304 dollars. Oh i think not

Wrapping this up fast as I want to go to bed early because even though I'm pretty close to the renn fair if I don't leave at least an hour before it opens I will be waiting on the road for an hour and might not get a place to park.

Here's the fannish 50 friday fan rec round up.

Yesterday I smacked my face into a wall and my glasses cut into my nose (I'm okay, it was me stumbling).

Today I have smashed both my knees hard into the bottom of my desk.

My head and eyes have both been hurting on and off since yesterday.

And this weekend I'm not going to be taking my ADHD meds to give my body a break from them.

...please send me good thoughts and hopes, I think I'm going to need them.

You may remember I was wondering if Rosie would be there for class on Wednesday, well, she wasn't. ( cut for length )

Yesterday I took Bodhi to school again, but as James had a day of annual leave in, we didn't have to walk there. Which actually caused more stress as we didn't realise the main road that leads to the school turn off is closed atm, so we had to drive to the next town to do a huge circular detour to get there.

I dropped B off at 8:30 then had an hour to waste before Yoga class, so we went to the nearby Starbucks and had my first hot pumpkin spice latte of the season. Drank that and James dropped me off before going home while I went to class.

I don't know if a downward dog is the same as a dog stretch, but the instructor said we were doing the former last week, and the second this week, except with an added stretched up leg. Then with the help of blocks and bricks for height, most of the class balanced on one arm and one leg, while I remained on both arms and contemplated my life choices.

I did enjoy the class, and went for the coffee meet up afterwards before James picked me up and we headed to Durham and the cinema to watch The Heart of a Beast, and omg, that film ( cut for huge spoilers, and talk about dog injury )

It's another craft fair tomorrow, also Pauline's birthday so we'll be calling in at hers after. It's the fair in aid of Consett Cats and the one held in the vets so I'm not expecting big sales. But, as long as we get some money to help the cats, that's all that matters.

Notes: for the [community profile] 100ships prompt 01 - Adamant

“Hey! Kotone!” Junpei came up to him eagerly, with a big grin on her face. “Let’s go to Wild Buck burger!”

She frowned. “Why? Don’t we usually go to Hagakure?”

“Because they’re serving their special burger today, it’s soooo good and I haven't had it for ages!”

Kotone scratched the back of her neck. “Hmm, I’m still not sure…”

“Pleeaaase?” he begged, clasping his hands. “It doesn’t come around that often, who knows when I’ll have it next… I’ll pay for yours, I swear you’ll like it!”

Kotone thought for a moment. Sure, Hagakura was nice, but it would be good to mix things up. And she did like Wild Duck’s normal burgers… she shrugged. “Sure, why not!”

Junpei cheered. “Oh man, thank you so much! You won’t regret it, I swear!”

Apparently word had spread far about the special, because Wild Duck was extremely crowded,

and Kotone and Junpei had to wait a long time for their food. Once they got it, they managed to grab a table right after someone had left it, and began to dig into the burgers.

Kotone took a bite of the burger, and closed her eyes to savor the flavor. She smiled at Junpei. “You’re right, this is an amazing burger.”  It had a mild but flavorful cheese, crunchy fried onions, and a tangy-sweet sauce that complimented the flavors of the other toppings quite well.

Junpei grinned at her. “That’s great news!” He jabbed a thumb at himself. “And it was all thanks to Iori Junpei, connoisseur of Iwatodai’s finest dining establishments~!”

Kotone laughed. “I’ll be sure to take your culinary recommendations in the future, then!”

So tired

Barely slept. So tired, so angry because I'm so tired. Had two major sugar crash outs on top of it and nothing feels like it's working out (that's only partially true)

I mean I got the halloween stuff into my office, did the laundry, made it to the bank, the grocery store and the Jackson apple fest, only to find that most of the food trucks aren't open in the afternoon. Sigh. But the one selling rosettes (a pastry) was and I bought some. They're special to me. I used to make them with Mom, grandma and great grandma. We cannot find our irons for them. It makes me sad so for thankful thursday I have rosettes

and the cute possum (crocheted) rear view mirror hanger (because that fucking front camera makes the rear view almost flush with the camera so I can't get my fucking hang tag in there so now I can hang it off my possum)

and for getting to see one of the local authors at the coffee shop. We don't usually have hours that overlap but we enjoy talking.

Things I'm not thankful for: that two bolts have come out of my recliner. OMG this recliner isn't that old but it's falling apart including the fabric which is acting dry rotted. Or the fact that this place smells like mildew from all the flooding. Or the realization that Tsubasacon is 2 weeks away and I haven't started either of my damn talks.

Or made my hotel reservation. So I called them today. He can't find Tsubasacon's block. How do you spell it? I spell it slowly. Twice. 'I keep getting lost. You need to give me phonetics'. OMFG. Fine T as in Tango S as in Sierra.. he still can't get it. 'Did you say a is for bravo.' No, fuck head I didn't and if you know I said A.....

Finally he gets it. they only have 1 room left open and only on saturday. If I want friday (which I do) I have to pay full price. Ugh. Okay we'll call that idiot tax. I have no excuse for waiting to the last minute. I know it's 180$ according to the web site. And OMG he says 220. For that shitty Holiday Inn?!? It's only good point is you can walk to the convention center across the street. Ugh. FINE. Okay you can only have a double queen room on Saturday but on friday we only have 'a standard room' which is either king or queen. You might have to change rooms.

Um no, I don't want to do that. Give me the queen and I can stay in that, right? It makes sense. 'oh I can't do that.' Why the hell not? I can pick either or on your web page. And now he gets pissy but agrees okay he can do that but I'll have to tell them when I check in. Okay fucking fine. Then he tells me I have to stay on the line after he gives me the confirmation number. I get that and it's a sales pitch call to book with holiday inn elsewhere. The salesman gets frustrated. Why are you on this call? I have no fucking idea. Your reservation desk rolled me over to it.

I can tell you this, I WAS going to book there on the 23rd as well so I could just go over after the Mothman Ballet to go to the WV book festival at the convention center but 220? fuck that. I'll pick another place and go park in the parking garage. Wonders how much the casino hotel is? (180, just looked it up. I could do that and piss about losing money all night)

I can't find the corseted top to my gown (couldn't find it 2 years ago either). Will improvise something else, either the corset from my other gown or that new shawl I bought. Taking my emilie's snack shop clack fan. I'm mostly packed.

But the thing I'm REALLY not happy about is my work flashdrive is gone. NO IDEA. It was in my purse yesterday. Not when I got to work. Thank god I had cloned it but it's a wonky flash drive it's on. I need to clone it again. And search for where it could have gone (probably fell out in the CR-V)
